Saadani

Saadani is unique for its extraordinary diversity of scenery and wildlife.

Beach, bush and river have been thrown together in such a colorful clash of ecosystems that that there is nothing to compare with it on the Eastern Coast of Africa.

Good populations of elephants, buffalo and numerous large groups of hippo and crocodile, lion, leopard, hyena, giraffe, greater kudu, red duckier and reedbuck, warthog, waterbucks, wildebeest, zebra, liechstenstein, hartebeest, the rare Roosevelt sable and bird life is extensive.

Bottle nose dolphins are common off the southern coast of the park; whale’s pass through Zanzibar channel in October and November and green turtle breed at the Madete beach.

Saadani village has one of the oldest communities in East African Coast.

When To Visit:
Generally accessible all -year round, but the access roads are sometimes impassable during April to May. Best time to visit is between January to February and June and September.

Getting There:
4 hours drive from Dar es Salaam or flight from Dar es Salaam/ Zanzibar.
